This morning, as I sip my cup of tea – warm, slightly sweet, infused with a delicate strand of zafran – I open my notebook and give myself ten minutes. No rules. No goals. Just words.
Writing has become my daily therapy, my quiet rebellion, and my softest strength. As women, we often hold so much inside – stories, dreams, frustrations, unspoken wisdom and rarely give ourselves the space to release them. But writing? Writing holds space for us. It listens when no one else does.
I used to believe you had to be a “writer” to write. That it had to be perfect, polished, publishable. But I’ve come to realize that writing isn’t about perfection – it’s about permission. Permission to feel. To think. To process. And most importantly, to exist on the page just as I am.
For ten minutes, I write anything. A memory. A passing thought. A fear. A to-do list. A poem. A rant. A prayer. Sometimes I write “I don’t know what to write,” and keep writing until something real spills out. And in that small act, I feel lighter. Seen. Heard.
Writing is both a skill and a sanctuary. Like any craft, it sharpens over time. The more I write, the more clarity I gain – not just in words, but in life. I understand myself better. I communicate more clearly. I notice things I used to overlook. Writing has helped me navigate tough decisions, heal from heartache, and even laugh at myself.
So today, I say to every woman: learn to write. Not because the world needs your blog or your book – though it might but because ‘you’ need your voice. You deserve your own presence.
Give yourself ten minutes. Brew a cup of tea. Sit with your soul and see what she wants to say. Trust me, she has stories worth writing.
